A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE WINNSBORO CENTER FOR THE ARTS
Founded in 2001 as the Trails Country Center for the Arts, in 2009 the Center was renamed Winnsboro Center for the Arts (WCA). Our mission is to addresses the region's need for accessible cultural arts of all forms and is a non-profit arts center.
Our 100% volunteer organization is dedicated to offering affordable programs, classes and events that cater to a variety of interests. From children to adults, the WCA is brimming with opportunities for enjoyment, participation and education in the arts.
Winnsboro Center for the Arts, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, began as a dream for a group of local artists. It has quickly become a hub by initiating, supporting, presenting, and preserving projects in nearly every artistic medium and creating a primary focus for interdisciplinary art and criticism.
The generous patronage of a few local people allowed WCA to begin it's operation. The WCA is a largely volunteer organization. Currently under a reorganized Board of Directors, WCA and The Bowery Stage concert series relies upon a broad base of sponsors and contributors, both private and public, to support its operations. We are grateful for the many that have chosen to support our organization.
