Tawasentha Park was officially opened to residents in 1969.  The land for this park consists of 200 acres of rolling wooded areas and open play areas located in the center of the Town of Guilderland.  The park is renowned for its beautiful gardens.

Tawasentha Park is open year round from morning until dusk.  Opening and closing times are posted for the convenience of the public.  Overnight parking, camping and hunting is not permitted.  Resident parking is free with a park sticker.  Non-resident parking is $10 per vehicle during the week and $20 per vehicle on weekends and holidays.

In 2008, the Town of Guilderland opened the bridge linking the Tawasentha Park main trails to the trails at the Winter Recreation area. The hiking trails at the park include three sections:  the main park loop, the winter recreation area and the community gardens sections (maps are available online or at the Parks & Recreation office).  Hikers can enjoy the picturesque views of the Normans Kill, ravines, waterfalls, open meadows and woodland terrain.  Binoculars are recommended to view the local wildlife and bird species that make the woods and meadows their home.
