Rootstown Elementary School provides beginning services for children ages five through eleven. These services include instruction in the essential skills of reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as introduction of basic content in science, health, and social studies.

Rootstown Elementary is located at 4190 State Route 44 between the middle and high school buildings in Rootstown. The building houses approximately 560 students and 45 staff members. The children are divided into classes with four or five sections per grade level. Average class size is approximately twenty-three students. Special programs are provided for students with special needs, as well as gifted and talented students. Special education students make up approximately four percent of the student population. A speech therapist, Title I educator, tutors, and educational aides provide services to the students at Rootstown Elementary.
