Our History:
The Troy Senior Citizen Club was initiated in the late 1970's and was incorporated in May of 1978. The group met in various places. The name was changed to Jarvis Township Senior Citizens in December of 1980.
The Senior Citizens Group applied for community development funding to erect a senior citizen center. Grants were received from Madison County Community Development, Department of Aging, Troy Lions Club, Jarvis Township and the City of Troy.
The center was built on the park district property where the Herman Hecht farmhouse once stood. The center was dedicated on September 12, 1981. The center's name was changed in the mid 90's to the Wiesemeyer Community Center in honor of Russell Wiesemeyer, who was the first Tri-Township Park District Board President.
