About
The Green Chamber of Commerce began as a vision of five dedicated people. This task force, comprised of Jeff Evans, Donn Force, Jeanne Greco, John Lund, and Joanne Zaratzian began meeting in July of 2000 to discuss the formation of a Chamber to serve in the City of Green. Prior to that time, Green was part of the Barberton-South Summit Chamber of Commerce. However, as the City of Green took on an identity of its own, it became increasingly clear that a separate Chamber was needed.
Since those beginnings, the Green Chamber has become a dynamic and intregal part of the Green business commnity, and now boasts nearly 200 members. The Chamber of Commerce is a private, not-for-profit, action organization dedicated to advancing the interests of businesses and professional firms in the City of Green and the surrounding communities. The membership of the chamber is comprised of diversified businesses interested in prospering and creating a healthy environment in which to conduct business successfully.
The purpose of the Green Chamber is to promote sound economic development in the community, to foster new businesses within the community, and to promote an active dialogue among government, business, education, and civic groups in the interest of enhancing the economic vitality of the City of Green. The Chamber helps businesses to build their business networks by sponsoring a variety of events such as Business-to-Business Luncheons, Morning Connections Breakfasts, Networking Nights, and an annual Golf Outing. The Chamber also sponsors an annual Awards Dinner, where local businesses that have made significant contributions to the community can be recognized.
