Gonzales Baptist Church was organized on July 7, 1907.Soon after, in 1909, Gonzales Baptist Church built its first worship center.The church then used a worship center located on E. Ascension St., from 1924 to 1952. The congregation then built a new sanctuary. Only 6 years after the building was completed, it burned in a horrific fire.The present facilities of First Baptist Church of Gonzales consist of an educational building and sanctuary, located at 1217 South Burnside Avenue.
