History of Pheasants Forever: Founded here in Minnesota late in 1982, the mission of Pheasants Forever (PF) focuses on protection and enhancement of pheasant and other wildlife habitat through habitat improvement, management, education and legislation. Simply put, Pheasants Forever is “The Habitat Organization.” Since its first project in 1984, the state’s 68 chapters and nearly 20,000 members have completed thousands of habitat projects affecting more than 242,000 acres of wildlife habitat in the state. Chapters have also spent more than $10 million on youth and education programs aimed to encourage hunting and conservation and also provided time and funding to promote the Conservation Reserve Program in Washington. In total, Minnesota PF chapters have spent more than $77 million on habitat and conservation education in the state.
Chisago County is home to chapter number 31.
