From: Poison Apple ProductionsAN INTERVIEW WITH OUR ACTOR OF THE WEEK: MAXWELL FAGIN
Introduce yourself, and tell us how old you are!
Maxwell Fagin, 14 years old
Why do you love theatre?
I love theatre because it not only gives you a chance to perform as another person, but also the ability to meet new people and make new friendships.
How long have I been at Poison Apple?
I have been at Poison Apple for about two and a half years.
What has been your favorite show that you've performed in?
The favorite show I’ve performed in was Shakespeare’s, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Favorite Role?
My favorite role was Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
What’s something you’ve learned from participating in theatre?
I have learned that it is important to make bold choices in theatre and I have also learned to express myself through those bold choices.
Can you tell us about a moment onstage when something didn't go as planned? How did it turn out?
In my school’s production of a murder mystery last school year, a scene partner who was supposed to fake hit me with a cane, actually smacked me. Luckily, it hit me in the stomach and it didn’t really hurt, so it turned out just fine.
What's one piece of advice you'd like to give to someone stepping onstage for the first time?
For someone stepping onstage for the first time, the advice I would give is to be confident and trust yourself. If you want to make a choice, you have to follow through, otherwise it doesn’t work as well.
Is there anyone you'd like to give a shout-out to for supporting you on your acting journey?
I would like to thank my father who was an actor himself once. He has helped and supported me so much, along with the rest of my family. I am very grateful for all of them.
Tell us the shows you have participated in with Poison Apple!
Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and I am currently working on Romeo and Juliet.
