March ECA

Rain and snow remain in the extended forecast for Northern California. With more water accumulating in California reservoirs, hydro conditions continue to improve. In addition, the Lodi Energy Center continues to perform well in terms of plant revenue. Forward purchases secured by Lodi Electric Utility staff helped mitigate price spikes in December and January, resulting in combined net revenues of approximately $3.3M. These net revenues helped reduce overall power supply costs, resulting in a March ECA credit of 3.77 cents/kWh. Customers have not seen an ECA credit since February 2022 and this is the highest historical ECA credit since the ECA was implemented in 2007. While the March ECA will help provide some much needed relief to customers experiencing higher than normal utility bills this year, we still encourage customers to continue to save during these winter months to help keep utility costs low:

- Weatherstrip your doors and windows
- Switch to a smart thermostat
- Close the damper when not using the fireplace
- Give your heating system a yearly checkup
-  Don't block your air vents
-  Check the insulation in your house

Customers can take advantage of a number of payment assistance programs to reduce the financial impact associated with monthly utility bills. For eligibility and information on these programs, please visit www.lodielectric.com. If you are having trouble paying your electric bill, there are options available to you.
