Friday Night Movie at ArtsPark
Friday, January 20th

Bring the kids to the ArtsPark at Young Circle in downtown Hollywood this Friday! The ArtsPark venue includes open green space, a playground, SplashPad, and a Visual Arts Pavilion that hosts live glass blowing demonstrations. The free movie begins at 8 p.m. at the Amphitheater. This week's feature is "Ant Man" (PG-13).

As a reminder, this venue is plastic and foam-free. Single-use plastics and Styrofoam containers are prohibited at the ArtsPark, including plastic bottles and bags

Operation Paintbrush
Saturday, January 21
The Department of Public Works is holding Operation Paintbrush on Saturday, January 21st from 8 a.m. until noon. The Operation Paintbrush Program provides up to 20 gallons of high-quality exterior latex paint for free to single-family homeowners and non-profit organizations in Hollywood. 100% of the latex paint collected through the Broward County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program is recycled into new, high-quality exterior paint which is then provided to participating cities at no cost. Paint can be picked up at the Department of Public Works, 1600 S. Park Road in Hollywood beginning at 8 a.m. Distribution is on a first-come, first-served basis while the City's supply lasts. To participate, you must provide your current driver’s license with Hollywood address and a current utility bill as proof of Hollywood residency. The paint colors offered are off-white, beige, terracotta, gray, and turquoise

This guided tour lets you learn the stories behind the art and artists of the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project. Meet at the Visitor Center Information Booth at 20th Avenue & Harrison Street.

Gallery Tour, 7pm & 9pm • FREE
Join Evan Snow of Choose954 for a guided and curated ArtWalk experience. Get an opportunity to meet with the local artists of each gallery in Downtown Hollywood. Meet at the Visitor Center Information Booth at 20th Avenue & Harrison Street.

Cinema Paradiso, 10pm • FREE
Catch an amazing sleight-of-hand performance by "Magic Jack" Maxwell. LOCATION: 2008 Hollywood Blvd.

Parking Information
Downtown Hollywood offers on-street metered parking for $1.50 per hour, as well as municipal garage parking for $1 per hour. Municipal garage locations are: 251 S. 20th Avenue (between Harrison Street and Van Buren Street) and 251 N. 19th Avenue (between Tyler Street & Polk Street).

Remember, Hollywood is plastic and foam free! Please consider bringing a reusable water bottle and leave plastic bags and other single-use plastics at home.

You Have a Great Idea for a Product,
so Now What?
The City, in partnership with Kauffman FastTrac®, is accepting applications for its FastTrac® Start-Up Program to help guide early-stage entrepreneurs and business owners in Hollywood with tools to refine their business concept, identify the components of a strong business plan, and access the appropriate resources for launch.

Participants will develop a clear business concept and learn how to:

Identify market needs
Explore risk and success factors
Build a solid business plan
Create an elevator pitch
Understand business fundamentals
Network with entrepreneur professionals
Access business, financial and human resources

All participants will receive a certificate of completion, and the top three business plans may be eligible to compete for seed money grants through a pitch competition.

Ileana Montalvo is a previous graduate who launched “The Cake Shop Dream,” a hybrid bakery serving treats and custom cakes for humans and canines.
