Keating Park Land & Water Conservation Fund Grant
Wednesday, January 25th from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency will conduct a public meeting to discuss capital improvements to Keating Park. The sole purpose of this meeting will be to discuss a $750,000 grant application for the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program to help finance improvements to the park.

General Obligation Bond Advisory Committee Meeting
Tuesday, January 31st at 6 p.m.
All are encouraged to join committee members at City Hall, 2600 Hollywood Boulevard, Room 215 to learn more about General Obligation Bond projects. A virtual option to join is also being offered for this meeting.

Charter Review Committee Members Wanted
The City is seeking individuals interested in serving on the Charter Review Committee to review and make recommendations regarding the current City Charter. This volunteer advisory committee will meet on a monthly basis (with more meetings possible) and will be required to provide a report on its recommendations to the City Commission. All interested applicants must reside in the City of Hollywood and be registered to vote.

New Privacy Wall Construction Project Underway on 46th Ave
As part of the City of Hollywood’s voter-approved General Obligation Bond, contractor MBR Construction, Inc. is installing 900 linear feet of precast concrete privacy wall along N 46th Ave. from N Hills Drive to Stirling Road. The wall will be constructed at the rear of the property in the public right-of-way. Crews will remove existing fencing and place a temporary fence until the new precast wall is completed. This is anticipated to take approximately two months. Temporary fencing will then be removed and the property will be restored to its original condition. Property owners are asked to assist crews by removing any personal belongings from the construction area.

Park Renovations
Stan Goldman Park Dog Park(South) Restrooms plumbing renovations are in progress. Restrooms are closed. Guests may utilize Skatepark restrooms.
Asphalt work is taking place at Zinkil Park. The park and playground are closed during this project.
The Holland Park restroom renovation is underway. The renovation is expected to run through mid-January. While the restroom is under construction, portable restrooms will be provided.
Zinkil Parkparking lot is closed this week through January 27th for repaving.
John Williams Parkand Parking Lot – is closed through February 3rd for repaving.
Grant Applications Available
The City of Hollywood is accepting applications from Non-Profit Organizations for the Fiscal Year 2024 for both the General Fund Social Service Agency Grant Program and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program to provide public services. The City will be collecting and reviewing the agency applications and making funding recommendations to the City Commission. Programs must demonstrate a significant benefit to Hollywood residents. The City is interested in supporting creative and innovative projects and programs that best serve the community. The application submission deadline is February 6th at 3 p.m.

Avant Garde Safe Route to School Sidewalk Improvement Program
As part of the Safe Route to School Grant Program, the Federal Highway Administration through the Florida Department of Transportation will be funding approximately $765,407 of sidewalk improvements in Hollywood’s North Central neighborhood. The scope of the project includes adding 13,225 linear feet of new 5-foot-wide concrete sidewalks to fill in missing links along 26 different blocks that serve Oakridge Elementary School, Beachside Montessori Village, the Avant Garde Academy and Dowdy Field.

New Dashboard Provides Deeper Dive into Improvement Projects
There are millions of dollars in planned improvements taking place throughout the City of Hollywood, from upgrades to City infrastructure, to new and improved parks and facilities. Additionally, investment in Hollywood from private interests remains strong with new commercial, multi-family and industrial projects planned and under construction. The Public & Private Investment Dashboard is an interactive GIS-based map that allows users access to information about these projects. Over 200 public and private projects are currently listed on the dashboard. Users can sort by the type of project, the status of the project, the funding source and where in the City the project is located. Users can also take a deeper dive into each project to learn more about:

- responsible department
- timeline and status

US1/Federal Highway FDOT Mobility Improvement Project
Construction is anticipated to start this month. Improvements planned include:
- Milling and resurfacing along the project limits
- Modifying pavement markings along SR-5/US-1/Federal Highway to accommodate 4-foot bicycle lanes in each direction
- Installing 138 new light poles and upgrading existing lighting to LED along the corridor
- Replacing concrete sidewalk with pavers from Monroe Street to Van Buren Street, and from Polk Street to Fillmore Street
- Removing existing pavers at signalized intersections between Van Buren Street and SR-824/Pembroke Road
- Installing decorative stamped asphalt crosswalks at all signalized intersections
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
- Lane closures are permitted Sunday through Thursday, between 10:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. and two-hour single lane closures are permitted between 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for concrete pours.
- Full side street closures are permitted on weekends for the construction of the decorative crosswalks.
- Business, pedestrian, and residential access will be maintained at all times.

North 26th Avenue (Taft to Sheridan) Resurfacing Project
The North 26th Avenue Resurfacing Project is underway along North 26th Avenue between Taft Street and Sheridan Street. Sidewalk repair and swale restoration, followed by the roadway milling and resurfacing work are taking place this month.
This construction project includes swale restoration, milling and resurfacing of the existing road, new pavement markings, and sidewalk replacement within the project boundaries. The works is scheduled to take approximately 60 days to complete, pending weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Access to private property will be maintained, however driveway access will be limited following a concrete pour to allow for the concrete to cure. To accommodate the inconvenience, temporary parking in the swale area adjacent to private property will be permitted while driveway access is temporarily closed. Closures are not expected to last longer than 48 hours.

Construction is underway along Liberty Street between North Park Road and North 31st Road, as well as on a section of North 31st Road just south of Liberty Street. This construction project includes storm drain upgrades, swale restoration, milling and resurfacing of the existing road, new pavement markings, and sidewalk replacement within the project boundaries. The work is scheduled to take place through February 2023.
Access to private property will be maintained, however driveway access will be limited following a concrete pour to allow for the concrete to cure. Closures are not expected to last longer than 48 hours.
