As a reminder, in observance of the Christmas holiday, Broward County and City Administrative offices will be closed on Monday, December 26th. Online services, including payment and library services remain available. Check the City's online services here.
Broward County Libraries are closed Sunday, December 25 and Monday, December 26, 2022.
Parks and Recreational Facilities
All Broward County operated regional and neighborhood parks, nature centers, and natural areas will be closed on the 25th.
All City-operated passive parks, Hollywood West and Rotary Park will be open from sunrise to sunset on the 24th, 25th and 26th.
All Community Centers, Boggs Field, Dowdy, Driftwood Athletic Complex, Driftwood Community Pool, Police Athletic League, and the Washington Park Athletic Field will be closed on the 24th, 25th and 26th.
Garbage Collection
Garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk waste materials collection service are NOT provided on Christmas Day. Collections resume on a normal schedule on Monday, December 26th.
Broward County Residential Drop-off Centers for Bulk/Yard Waste and Household Hazardous Waste/Electronics is CLOSED on the 25th. Normal operating hours for the Residential Drop-off Centers is 9:00AM to 3:00PM on Saturdays only.
Sun Shuttle
-Christmas Eve: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
-Christmas Day: CLOSED.
A ride on the Sun Shuttle is $2 per person, per ride. For the most immediate service to request a ride, download the "Ride Circuit" App from the App Store or Google Play. For those with a more flexible schedule, you may also wave down the nearest Sun Shuttle fleet driver or head to a designated shuttle stop. TriRail
Tri-Rail trains will be operating on a weekend schedule on Sunday, December 25th. The Customer Experience Call Center will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekend Schedule
Broward County Transit
Broward County Transit will operate a holiday service schedule on Sunday, December 25th. Administrative offices will be closed, however Customer Service Representatives will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at 954.357.8400.
Charter Review Committee Members Wanted
The City is seeking individuals interested in serving on the Charter Review Committee to review and make recommendations regarding the current City Charter. This volunteer advisory committee will meet on a monthly basis (with more meetings possible) and will be required to provide a report on its recommendations to the City Commission. All interested applicants must reside in the City of Hollywood and be registered to vote.

COVID Testing Sites to Close by December 28
The two remaining Curative testing sites in Hollywood will be closing between November and December of this year. The schedule is as follows:
-Last day of testing at the Hollywood Shuffleboard Court is tomorrow, November 30th 2022
-Last day of testing at the Oak Lake Community Center is Wednesday, December 28th, 2022
For faster service, please schedule a self-collected Rapid PCR test by visiting the Curative website. Please note: As of March 2022, these testing sites no longer offer free testing to the uninsured due to the lack of federal reimbursements.

Application Portal Opens: January 9-22, 2023
The City of Hollywood is launching the 4th cohort of its free FastTrac® Start-Up Program to assist entrepreneurs and business owners in Hollywood. Designed to guide early-stage entrepreneurs launch a business, the FastTrac® Start-Up Program also helps existing businesses develop a plan around new product lines and services. The program culminates at Graduation Day with an exciting Pitch Competition. The FastTrac Start-Up Program is in-person at no cost to participants.
Participants will develop a clear business concept and learn how to:
-Identify market needs
-Explore risk and success factors
-Build a solid business plan
-Create an elevator pitch
-Understand business fundamentals
-Network with entrepreneur professionals
-Access business, financial and
human resources
BUSINESS OWNERS WITH THE TOP THREE BUSINESS PLANS WILL COMPETE FOR SEED $$$ GRANTS TO LAUNCH THEIR BUSINESS!

New Dashboard Provides Deeper Dive into Improvement Projects
There are millions of dollars in planned improvements taking place throughout the City of Hollywood, from upgrades to City infrastructure, to new and improved parks and facilities. Additionally, investment in Hollywood from private interests remains strong with new commercial, multi-family and industrial projects planned and under construction. The Public & Private Investment Dashboard is an interactive GIS-based map that allows users access to information about these projects. Over 200 public and private projects are currently listed on the dashboard. Users can sort by the type of project, the status of the project, the funding source and where in the City the project is located. Users can also take a deeper dive into each project to learn more about:
-category and description
-responsible department
-timeline and status
