Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Centennial Insurance Group Inc. a 2023 Make More Happen Award for its volunteerism with City Center, a nonprofit organization that champions youth and families in under-resourced communities by creating empowered pathways to relief and restoration. The award includes an initial donation of $5,000 for City Center, which can be doubled to $10,000 just by having community supporters vote online. 

As of Monday, June 5, the Centennial Insurance Group and City Center community story will be highlighted on the official Make More Happen microsite at www.agentgiving.com/Centennial-Insurance-Group where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the featured story receives a mix of at least 500 votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will be raised to $10,000. 

The awarded funds will be used to aid after-school programs for youth, middle school and high school students. These programs provide academic support for students with a study lab, free tutoring, life skills training, recreational activities, and more. The donation will also contribute to City Center’s free nutrition program for families and youth that provides meals, food pantry access, family meal kits and baby nutrition items.

Centennial Insurance agents assist in City Center’s summer meal program by preparing and serving meals for families and youth. The agency is regularly involved in the organization’s clothing program where clean, gently used clothing items are donated so individuals can have clothes for occasions like job interviews and going to school.

Throughout 2023, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 37 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $370,000 to the nonprofits they support. Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application and photos demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit.
