Senator Casey: “He Said in 2023 That All the Decisions That Were Made While He Was CEO, He Has Responsibility for”

PENNSYLVANIA — On Oct 16th, voters across Pennsylvania had an opportunity to hear David McCormick’s disastrous record including his lies about where he lives and the details of his background, his anti-choice agenda including support for an abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest, and his record of investments in China.

What Pennsylvanians Are Watching:

Bob Casey Called Out McCormick for Lying About Where He Lives

  • Bob Casey: The campaign that we’re in today started with this candidate, Mr. McCormick, starting the race lying to the people of Pennsylvania about where he lives. How do you lie about where you live when you’re running for an office where you seek to represent the people of our state? He said he was living in Pennsylvania. He wasn’t. He was living in Connecticut. The Associated Press wrote about it, August the 14th, 2023. He lied to the people about that. He also lied about how he grew up. He said at one point he was a farmer, and then he grew up on a farm, and then he started lying about other things in this campaign. But if this is a question about who’s been telling lies, how do you lie to people about where you live?

Bob Casey Called Out McCormick’s Dangerous Anti-Choice Agenda

  • Bob Casey: […] In 2022 the Supreme Court overturned a 49 year right in the Dobbs case, when they overturned that right that was overturning Roe v Wade […] When that decision was handed down by the Supreme Court, Mr. McCormick said that decision made him, quote, ‘very, very happy.’ And he – his views and his position is in furtherance of what he said. He does not support restoring Roe. […] The other thing I would also add is that he doesn’t support the IVF bill before the Senate.

Bob Casey Called Out McCormick for His Investments with America’s Adversaries

  • Bob Casey: He said in 2023 that all the decisions that were made while he was CEO, he has responsibility for, and what he doesn’t want to take ownership of, or responsibility for, are the decisions he made as a CEO to invest in China, to invest in the rise of China after we knew that China was causing a lot of job loss here in the United States. He invested in Vladimir – helped Vladimir Putin just before he invaded Ukraine.
