The Benicia Fire Department has been notified by the Valero Refinery that they flared early this morning for around one hour while starting up a unit. Benicia Fire Department staff will continue to monitor the situation. We currently do not anticipate any off-site health impacts.

We will notify the community if there are any significant changes.
