Multiple new reports detail how Sheehy “has eschewed interviews with local and national reporters” and “blocked reporters from campaign events”
Helena, MT – Following brutal reporting from CNN earlier this month detailing how Tim Sheehy “goes to extreme lengths to dodge the media,” a new wave of coverage is highlighting how the candidate is in hiding as questions mount about his lies, dangerous policy positions, and wave of scandals.
Local and national outlets are scrutinizing Shady Sheehy for “ignoring numerous requests for an interview,” and running “a campaign like none I’ve ever seen.”
Here’s what they’re saying:
WATCH
Ryan Nobles: We didn’t get the chance to talk to Tim Sheehy. We desperately asked for an interview. He was not in the state this week, he was out of state fundraising… We couldn’t find much evidence of a campaign event while we were there.
- Chris Jansing: Where is he? I have not seen these sit down interviews. I have not seen him. It’s not just that he won’t speak to someone from NBC or MSNBC. Who is he talking to?
- Ryan Nobles: I went back and tried to find any interview that Tim Sheehy has done in the past year… For the most part, he has only done interviews with Fox News. Even our local affiliates in Montanawho we work with closely, we asked them if they had the opportunity to sit down and talk to Tim Sheehy, and they’ve been denied those interview requests as well.
- Ryan Nobles: I’ve covered a lot of campaigns over the course of my career in states all across the country. I’ve never been in a situation where the campaign didn’t even invite us to be a part of an event. We were going to tailor our travel around a time when we could go to a Tim Sheehy event, see him connect with voters, even if it didn’t mean we would get an interview, and they didn’t even respond to our request. So it is a campaign like none I’ve ever seen the way that they’ve conducted it.

- NBC News: “Sheehy has eschewed interviews with local and national reporters, and there is little evidence of a significant grassroots campaign. The Montana GOP’s website lists only three events for the entire month of October, none of them including Sheehy. The events Sheehy does hold are by invitation only and not open to the media. His campaign didn’t acknowledge repeated requests to interview him or to cover an event with him talking to voters. An invitation obtained by NBC News showed Sheehy was raising money in Texas this week.”
- Lee Montana State Bureau: “The campaign did not make Sheehy available for this story — ignoring numerous requests for an interview [...] That June conversation was one of the few questions the MontanaState News Bureau was permitted to ask the candidate over the last year.”
- Bozeman Daily Chronicle: “Sheehy’s campaign has been notably quiet in recent weeks regarding media access. It has allegedly blocked reporters from campaign events and not responded to several requests for phone interviews from the Chronicle.”
