From: Artisans at the Dahmen BarnArt demonstration days were developed to highlight the creative processes of regional people each year on a different theme. At the Barn we celebrate creativity and hope that visitors will be inspired to learn more by taking a class in a new medium, or just appreciate what others do to create in that medium. Some participants will have their creations for sale at the event.
A variety of demonstrations will take place all featuring the art of textiles , there will also be a kids craft table where kids can learn a simple crochet chain stitch to make a bracelet. The Palouse Weavers will have several member demonstrating weaving techniques, the group was formed 70 years ago and in October will have a 70th anniversary exhibit at the barn. BJ Sandusky recently moved to the area she is an award winning crazy quilter and will be demonstrating the different stitching and fun embellishments that make up her award winning quilts, she will be teaching a class later in April at the barn.
