June is the month for winding down the school year and making one’s summer plans! Time to get your wild on! What’s it going to be? Will you swim with ocean creatures? Hike the Appalachian Trail, or travel to exotic lands? Maybe you will turn up the music and dance like a banshee or quietly dive into a new hobby that will release your inner artist. The Artwork@7th artists will share their interpretations of “Where the Wild things Are” for the month of June.

One of our newest artists, Cynthia Martin-Brennan, will be showing “Zebra at Little Chem Chem”. The image was captured at a safari camp in Tanzania, Africa in 2022. Ray Saunders provides a photo of a swan raising itself from the water to dry its wings, appearing like a conductor. Suzanne Nawrot will be showing several new jewelry pieces, including a cute little owl.

In addition to Cynthia, we welcome two more new artists to Artworks@7th: Brandon Postow, and Courtney Sheldon. We welcome their talents and unique art perspectives to our community.

Also, this month our guest artist is Julie Heath. An Annapolis artist and author, Julie creates one of a kind beach chic mixed media collages that incorporate the vibrant colors of the Caribbean and the flora and fauna of local rivers and bays using mixed media of handmade and card stock papers plus watercolors, alcohol inks and acrylics.

Our opening reception is June 1, 2024 from 1PM to 4PM. Mingle with the artists and enjoy art, live music, and light refreshments. Bring your friends and family. Children are welcome. Hope to see you there!

Money spent locally stays in the local economy and continues to strengthen the economic base of the entire community. Small local businesses make indispensable contributions to communities and neighborhoods. Supporting local artists allows them the opportunity to continue to serve their communities. You will often see members of Artworks@7th supporting local charities and organizations by participating in art shows, teaching workshops, and donating items for fundraisers.

ArtWorks@7th is located at 8905 Chesapeake Avenue (near 2nd street) in North Beach, Maryland. Our summer hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Dates: May 30 - June 30, 2024
