Painting with a Twist, the nation’s original and largest paint-and-sip studio, is set to celebrate its grand opening through a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new ultimate arts and crafts destination in Lacey on July 10 at 5:30pm. The Thurston County Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance at the ceremony and afterwards, guests can treat themselves to complimentary refreshments as they experience an open house of the new studio. Located at 5831 Lacey Blvd. SE, Suite E, Lacey, WA, the Painting with a Twist Lacey studio is a new landing spot for community members to gather, create and socialize.

The concept aims to inspire guests to come together for a unique ‘getaway’ that includes friends, wine, and painting. Local artist-entertainers lead Painting with a Twist experiences, and guests gather to create, sip, and socialize in a step-by-step process that transforms bare canvases into fun art.

Owner Catherine Stolberg is a first-time entrepreneur coming out of retirement to open the only Painting with a Twist studio in Washington. This will mark her third major career pivot, after working as a flight attendant for twenty-three years before going back to college and working for the state of Washington in IT. However, her comfort with change was engrained in her from an early age after moving numerous times with her family. By the time Stolberg was fifteen, she had attended fifteen different schools. Lacey has been Stolberg’s home for thirty years and remains the first and only place she has truly planted her roots, making this opening of the new Painting with a Twist studio and the chance to contribute to her community so special.

“Bringing the only Painting with a Twist studio in the state of Washington to life will give people a place to foster connections and express themselves creatively while having fun,” said Stolberg. “I have not spoken to anyone in the community who has not been overjoyed when I tell them Painting with a Twist will soon be opening its doors in Lacey. We are thrilled to be making a positive impact and cannot wait to invite people to the studio to experience it for themselves!”
