9:45 AM: 43rd Annual Walter Hunt 4th of July 3K Road Race

Maine's Fastest Road Race! Come be part of this fast, exciting race just before the 4th of July parade! $15 registration fee.

Race begins at 9:45am

Course Description: One word...Fast!  The race route runs along the 4th of July parade route, 15 minutes before the 4th of July parade. Want that experience of people cheering for you in a race? This is the race for you. Sign up and let the parade crowd "push" you to the finish!

Online Registration is open through June 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Race registration is free for Sub5 track club members with current membership standing. Members must register membership in advance and use Runsignup login to receive online discount.

Bib pick-up for all pre-registered runners and race-day registration will be at Brewer Auditorium from 8:00 to 9:05am. Bib Pick-Up And Registration Closes At 9:05am! Race day registration will be $25. Team registration pricing on race day is $75. Race-day registration is cash or check only.

Water and post-race snacks will be available at the race finish.

NEW THIS YEAR! Our race participant item is being upgraded from cotton to a tech shirt. Because this comes with an additional cost and other increased costs we've decided to make it an add-on. This means, you can register for the race for the same low price (free for Sub5 members) but if you want the shirt it is an additional $10. Details are in the registration.

10:00 AM: Parade

A map of the parade route can be found below. Following the parade, food trucks on the waterfront will be available beginning at 1pm.

Parade Route
The parade will line up on Acme Rd in Brewer and enter onto Wilson St to begin. The parade will continue onto Main St in Bangor, wrapping up on Exhange St. You can find the bandstand with the announcers at Main and State St, downtown.

5:30 PM: Concert

The concert stage will be located on the Bangor Waterfront promenade near the corner of Railroad St and Front St. The Chords For Cure Concert events raise funds for children with cancer in our area. Last year this event raised over $8k for our kids in Brewer!! This year we have two phenomenal bands playing... Marionette and The Stone Doctors!

Get ready for an unforgettable 4th of July in Bangor!

We are so excited for another fun free concert! This year, we will feature two fantastic bands that will keep you dancing all evening!

Marionette - Aroostook County's Premier Party Band
Time: 5:30 PM
Marionette will kick things off with their high-energy rock and pop hits that are sure to get everyone on their feet and having a blast!

The Stone Doctors - Rolling Stones Cover Band

Chords For Cure XXVIII
Time: 7:15 PM
Following Marionette, the Stone Doctors will take the stage with their incredible Rolling Stones tribute. If you've seen them before, you know they always deliver an electrifying performance!

Free Parking is available for this event at the Bangor Savings Bank Parkade.

Let's Make a Difference!
During the concert, we'll be hosting a bucket collection to raise funds for Maine children through the Pediatric Center in Brewer. Last year, thanks to your generosity, we raised over $8k for our kids in Brewer! Let's beat that number this year!

Come hungry because we'll have a fantastic lineup of food trucks serving up delicious eats throughout the day and the concert.

Join us for an evening of great music, tasty food, and community spirit, all leading up to the spectacular fireworks show! Don't forget to bring your friends, family, and generosity to support a wonderful cause.
