Westmer Elementary is one of two schools in the Westmer School District. It is located in New Boston, a small town in western Mercer County. We have approximately 325 - 350 students ranging from early childhood to fifth grade. We are basicly nestled at the edge of a farming communiuty. Our district consists of four small towns: Keithsburg, Joy, New Boston, and Eliza. The Mississippi River flows along the full length of the western boundary of Mercer County. We have one major factory in our district Cannon Precision, located in Keithsburg. Other major businesses throughout the district include: Bay View Fish Co, Inc, Alexander Lumber Company, Bayhill Fertilizer, Inc, and as well as several grain elevators.
