History:
Milan is located on the western edge of northern Illinois at the junction of the Mississippi and Rock Rivers. Founded in 1843, Milan is one of several villages and cities that make up the Quad-City Area. Rich in local history, this area was the home of Chief Blackhawk and his nation of Sac-Fox Indians. The first railroad bridge across the Mississippi River was located near Milan. The residents of Milan are proud of their heritage, the strong growth of the community and plans for the future.
