Upson-Lee North Elementary has been identified as a Title I Distinguished School by the Georgia Department of Education. Distinguished School recognition is authorized by Section 1117 of No Child Left Behind. Schools honored with this distinction have achieved Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for three consecutive years.

This is the fourth consecutive year that ULNE has achieved AYP and the second consecutive year that the school has been designated as a Title I Distinguished School. The school, which received a certificate of recognition from the Georgia DOE, will also receive a monetary award in the form of grant funds.
