Mission

Streamwood Park District is to foster excellence in recreation opportunities through parks, facilities, and museum that enhance the quality of life for it's residents and guests.

Vision

It is the vision of the Streamwood Park District to:

-Include collaborative approaches to provision of services with government, public, and private agencies;

-Provide safe wholesome and well-maintained parks and facilities for our residents and guests;

-Provide diverse recreational opportunities that reflect a commitment to inclusion;

The Streamwood Park District is a member of a cooperative agreement among 16 park districts which form the Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA). NWSRA exists to provide outstanding opportunities through recreation for people with disabilities. The agency's team of full-time Therapeutic Recreation professionals and trained part-time staff offer safe, fun and quality year round recreation opportunities to individuals with disabilities of all ages and ability levels. The activities offered benefit participants through increased self esteem, physical, social and recreation skills development, improved fitness and health, experiencing new challenges, making friends, and having fun! Afterschool, evening and weekend programs feature cooperative sports and games, individual and team sports, arts and crafts, fitness, cooking, and creative arts and drama. Camps, trips, and special events are also available at carious times throughout the year.
