Mission
The mission of the Lynchburg congregation is the mission of Christ. That mission consists of the following: First, proclaiming the gospel - "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age..."(Mt.28:19,20). Through the pulpit, visitation, printed page, Internet, missionary trips, support to missionaries, and support to radio and TV programs, we endeavor to have a part in the fulfilling of the Great Commission. Second, benevolence - "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble..." (Jas.1:27). Through the good deeds of local members and the support of two orphans home, we try to assist the needy. Third, edification - "Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another" (Rom.14:19). Through Bible classes on Sundays and Wednesdays and two worship assemblies on Sundays, we attempt to build each other us in the faith of Jesus Christ.
