Mission:

The mission of the Le Sueur County Historical Society is to collect, preserve and tell the story of Le Sueur. It is able to fulfill this mission through a collective of historic sites, a research center, exhibits, educational programming and artifact collections.  The museum is housed in the old Elysian Public School, and was turned into the museum in 1965; two years later it would be put on the National Register of Historic Places.
