First Congregational Church of Haddam welcome you with open hearts, open minds, and open arms, wherever you are in life's journey. We seek to offer you a sanctuary where you will have an opportunity to freely explore faith and your relationship to God, neighbor, and yourself, to discover the many joys of life knowing that God loves you, and to live your faith authentically.

We invite you to look us over here on the Internet or, better, in person. We are welcoming and supporting. You will find us both traditional and contemporary in the best sense. We have a lovely traditional New England style worship space, while in worship we seek to meet the living God who is active in our midst and in the world. We believe that God promises unconditional acceptance and grace and also challenges us to faithful discipleship in the world today. Our music is a blend of great hymns and new, uplifting songs. In addition, we offer a very strong educational ministry for children of all ages and an expanding one for adults. This ministry is our signature. On any given Sunday you will find yourself surrounded with the joyful sounds of eager children and a quiet, meditative atmosphere for personal reflection. We are a home for all ages.

We also have a significant pastoral care ministry, an extensive ministry with people with special needs, and a ministry of deep concern with matters of justice, in all its dimensions, and with the common welfare locally and globally. We encourage both hands-on ministry as well as educational and consciousness raising opportunities. Moreover, we seek to be thoughtfully progressive in the values we believe are important and passionate in the work we do. We see ourselves as agents of reconciliation in the world.
