The branch serves a diverse community, which includes many recent immigrants. It has an eclectic, culturally diverse collection, including Islamic, Spanish language, and French/Creole materials, self-help materials, popular reading and children’s books.
The branch offers many educational and recreational programs, including parent/child workshops, preschool story hours, cultural programs and a long-running adult book discussion that focuses on African and African-American authors.
South End has a new technology center, funded by a grant from First Niagara Bank.
