About Our Worship:
Sometimes church music can be intimidating. Often it is old-fashioned, with words that are difficult to understand. It can also be tough to sing unless you are professionally trained! That’s if you even want to try—in some churches, you might even be the only one singing.
At Crossroads, we want you to be able to engage. We want to make music in which you can participate. We want you to enjoy yourself, connect with God, and even walk away with your heart moved.
Singing a song to God about how great He is or singing to others about Him is called worship or praise, and God loves that. He hears us when we worship Him, and the Bible tells us we are interacting directly with Him. Psalm 22:3 says, “Yet You are holy, O You who are enthroned upon the praises of Israel” (from the New American Standard Version of the Bible). He cares about how we feel about Him. He wants to hear us say that we love Him.
Not only does God love to hear our praise, but we also benefit when we worship Him. Psalm 89:15 says, “Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord” (New Living Translation). If you are full of questions and want to know if God is real, worship is a time when you can hear the answers.
If you have ever been to church before, you might hear a song you recognize, along with a lot of new songs. But if you haven’t been to church a lot, we have the words up on a screen in front so you can read them and follow along with us.
Whether you can sing like an American Idol or can’t carry a tune in a bucket, join in. We want you to feel comfortable worshipping with us. Stand up with us and clap your hands to the beat if you want to. If you don’t know the song, sing what you can—we love it when you join in. When you enjoy a song, feel free to clap afterward.
