From: The Invisible Dog Art CenterThe beautiful month of October has arrived. Why so beautiful?
October is a 10 (even if he was born an 8).
In October, we can enjoy everyone and everything without September's frenzy.
In October, there are so many birthdays to celebrate: Emma, Oliver, Marie Salome, Beatrice, Carla, Mervat, Travis, Shannon, Nicky, Julien, Zachary, Florent, Erin, Sheila, Jon, Cesar, Peter, Diane, Dawn, Borja, Frank, and ... mine.
In October, it's your last chance to visit Camille de Galbert's exhibition, Growing Matter, that closes on Sunday October 15.
If you are unable to come visit, you can download the catalogue of the exhibition or ask us for a Facetime visit.
For the closing party, from 3 to 7pm, we will reveal a new site specific installation in the Garden of The Invisible Dog by Roxanne Revon, created in conjonction with Galbert's work.
Don't forget to RSVP for the closing party.
In October, we are thrilled to host the first event of a new partnership between Substack and The Invisible Dog. That evening, the 11th, a galaxy of talented writers will gather, including ID resident, Adam Dalva.
In October, another exciting first collaboration with Prelude Festival which celebrates its 20th anniversary. Prelude will be at The Segal Center of course but also all over the city for this exceptional edition.
For their stop at 51 Bergen street on Thursday October 19, we will present The Anthropologists' axes, herbs and satchels, a play directed by Sandie Luna and Melissa Moschitto
October will end in style, with the return of FAD Market, on 28 and 29.
And like every October.
it's the month of our annual fundraiser.
Last October, we raised $92,000. Will we reach $100,000 this year, for our 15th anniversary?
Like every October, it's only thanks to your support and your generosity that we can reach our goal.
Like every October, we count on you, and this one more then ever.
Like every October, I know that you are eagerly waiting to discover our new campaign video.
But unlike every October, Mac Premo and Adrianna Dufay are absent - they are both in residency in Hamburg (Germany) - and without my favorite and unique Director and Producer, I had to do it (almost) by myself.
Unlike my Hummus recipe recently featured in the New York Times, (and as you can see on the blurry photo above), I'm not very good in front of a camera without them.
... I can see you smiling already ... I hope you will like the new video.
On October 11, the fundraising campaign will start. You have 6 days to save.
Mark your calendar, but I will flood you with emails and messages anyway.
Happy October to all of you
