Improvements coming to Swenson Park

Construction at Swenson Park, 1076 Circle Lane in Gulf Breeze/Midway, is expected to start the week of Jan. 16. Weather permitting, construction is expected to be completed by the end of July 2023. Improvements to the park include:

- New playground equipment

- Basketball and tennis court renovations

- Updated picnic facilities

- Construction of a new fitness fun zone/play area

- Installation of exercise trail equipment

- Additional lighting

- ADA compliant parking improvements

"I’m excited about the big improvements for Swenson Park," said Commissioner Colten Wright, Chairman and District 5. "We’re making significant updates to the courts, installing a modern playground, making ADA accessibility improvements, and much more. I know residents will be thrilled with the park once it’s completed. I ask for residents’ patience during the construction process and look forward to the day when we hold the ribbon cutting and re-open the park so families and children can enjoy it to its fullest."
