From the Chamber Office

Y'all probably know we have a fire going on up the street from us. Luckily the smoke has not impacted the Oakhurst area too much, but we're sure thankful for and praying for the firefighters who have come from all over to assist in the firefighting efforts.

My favorite memory of the week has to do with the fire, but only peripherally. I got a call yesterday from a firefighter who brings his wife a cookbook from every fire he works. He hasn't been able to find one yet on this tour of duty and asked me to help him. So that's my small contribution to firefighting efforts for the Washburn Fire. I haven't succeeded yet, but I haven't given up either. Do you have any suggestions?
