Massillon Lions Club will perform “At the Circus” for its 79th Annual Show on Friday and Saturday evenings, March 3, 4, 10, and 11, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday afternoons, March 5 and 12, at 2:00 p.m. on the Lions Lincoln Theatre stage.
The Lions Club Chorus will perform It’s Carnival Time, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Take Me to the Fair, Another Op’nin’ Another Show, Eye of the Tiger, and From Now On.
Veteran showman Rudy Turkal will sing Out in Right Field. Cleve Grnach will sing Goodbye Cruel World, and Ken Eberhardt will sing Palisades Park. Bryan Jones will perform two songs—The Greatest Show and From Now On. Bill Smith and Mike Dominick will sing Stuck in the Middle as a duet. Kali Lowe will take the stage twice for Miracle Power and Never Enough. Jim Thieret will sing a familiar circus-related song, Man on the Flying Trapeze; J David Ress will perform Feelin' Alright; and Bryan Stuck, will sing Send in the Clowns.
Eric Myers returns this year as show director, and the dancers from Chris T’s Dance Emporium will enliven the stage as always. Rudy Turkal will offer prizes for his trivia game prior to curtain time for each performance.
The live, family-friendly, performances bring together excellent local talent in support of the sight and hearing services that are a hallmark of the Massillon Lions Club, which was chartered in 1943,. The Lions Club motto is “We Serve.” This show is the major fundraiser for the club each year.
Tickets are all general admission. Admission is $10. Advance tickets may be purchased at Sweeper Mart, Buehler’s (Mayflower Location), Emmert’s Market, Friends and Family Credit Union (Downtown Massillon), Massillon Senior Center, and Massillon Lions Club members. They may be purchased in advance online at online lionslincolntheatre.org until five hours before show time, or at the box office beginning one hour before show time, subject to availability.
