Governor Pritzker Announces Four Appointments to Boards and Commissions

ILLINOIS COMMISSION ON EQUITY AND INCLUSION

Nina Harris will serve as a Member on the Illinois Commission on Equity and Inclusion.* Harris is coming to the Commission from the Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology, where she served as the Chief Administrative Officer. Prior to that, Harris worked for the Springfield Urban League for nearly 30 years, including as President and CEO from 2004-2021. She is a member of the Memorial Health Board of Directors, Illinois Black Advocacy Initiative, and the National Urban League Academy of Fellows. In 2017, Harris received the Affiliate Champion Award for her DEI leadership in job development from the National Urban League. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Sangamon State University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois in Springfield.

FIREARM OWNER’S IDENTIFICATION CARD REVIEW BOARD

Erin Alexander will serve as a Member on the Firearm Owner’s Identification Card Review Board.* Alexander is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has operated her own practice for the last 15 years, specializing in individual, family, and couple’s therapy, and business consulting services. In addition to her practice, Alexander also serves as the Chief Psychologist for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services where she is a lead consultant for the Department, supporting strategic planning, change management, and leadership development, while also providing subject matter expertise and leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives for the Department. Alexander received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her Master of Arts and Doctor of Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.

Ramon Moore will serve as a Member on the Firearm Owner’s Identification Card Review Board.* Moore is the owner of his firm, The Law Office of Ramon A. Moore, where he provides legal representation to individuals charged with crimes in Illinois. He previously served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for over ten years, practicing in the Felony Trial Division, Felony Review Unit, as a Trial Assistant, and in the Criminal Appeals Division. Moore received a Bachelor of Arts from Lake Forest College and his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law.

ILLINOIS TORTURE INQUIRY AND RELIEF COMMISSION

Yanajaha Kafi Moragne-Patterson will serve as a Member on the Illinois Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission.* Moragne-Patterson is the Senior Program Director of College and Career Success at the University of Chicago Inclusive Economy Lab. Previously, she served as the Director of College Success at Chicago Scholars. Moragne-Patterson also has classroom experience having been an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Dominican University. She was recognized as a Signature Fellow with Leadership Greater Chicago, was a Fellow with the Civic Action Capstone, Square One Foundation, and was an IMPACT Executive Fellow with the Chicago Urban League. She is a member of the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity, the American Association of University Professors, the National Association for Multicultural Education, the Society for Social Work and Research and the American Educational Research Association. Moragne-Patterson earned a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College, a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Chicago.
