MADISON, Wis. — On June 17th, California bank owner Eric Hovde (R–Laguna Beach) accomplished one of his lifelong goals: knocking down one of the beloved and oldest family owned bars in Madison. Hovde and his business have waged a decades-long campaign to try to knock down one of the most beloved Wisconsin drinking establishments in the state, which the California bank owner finally accomplished today. Hovde has also suggested that the sale of commercial alcohol is bad for society and should be banned.

“Knocking down one of the most beloved family owned dive bars in Wisconsin is just another example of megamillionaire California bank owner Eric Hovde insulting Wisconsinites and doing whatever it takes to line his own pockets, even if that means hurting Wisconsin businesses and patrons alike,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Arik Wolk.
