TWAS THREE DAYS AFTER CHRISTMAS
and all through the land everyone was wondering what to do with the leftovers from the meals they had planned.
In general, let hot dishes cool before putting in the fridge.
Too much warm food in the fridge makes it harder for the fridge to reach a cool enough temperture fast enough.
TURKEY: slice thin to help the cooling process. Do not reheat more once. Even reheating about 75 degrees kills bacteria, it won't destroy the toxins. CHEESE: needs to be wrapped and stored in a cool place to prevent mold from growing.
SMOKED SALMON: keep in fridge and use within 3 days.
COOKED HAM: a whole cooked ham can be stored up to five days unless it has been sliced, then only 3 days. STUFFING: keep in a fridge or cool place and eat within 4 days.
REPUBLIC TRASH SERVICE
Republic skipped trash pickup both
Thursday and Friday last week due to extreme cold and road conditions.
Republic

BE PICKING UP TRASH ON 12/23.
