The Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives will host a Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. Route will be AHS to Pryor, to Shaw, to Hobbs to Jefferson, around Square and back to Jefferson to end at Hometown.

City offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.

Sanitation will run as scheduled. Please have bins to the curb by 6 a.m.

Athens State University and Alabama Veterans Museum will host a Veterans Day program on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the museum with former Blackhawk pilot Michael Durant serving as guest speaker. The event is free, but registration is required so that enough lunch will be provided. The deadline to reserve seats is Friday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. Seating is limited to 200 people, so please register in advance.
