Sherry Blanton Presents: Fancy Foliage

Fancy Foliage. We often get so caught up in the beauty of a bloom that we overlook how dramatic and vivid foliage can be. Purple, pink, chartreuse, red and even striped leaves will wow us. Use fancy foliage to add another dimension to the garden!

Learn Graphic Design: Starting With the Basics, November 2nd at 2 PM
Do you want to learn how to use FREE resources like Canva to design and professionally print your own custom invitations, cards, posters and more?  Our graphic designer Amy Stone will teach you the basics you need to get started creating your own unique and beautiful print products.  Bring your own laptop or iPad, or check out a laptop here at the library for this class!

Red Cross Blood Drive,  November 3rd from 9:30 - 1:30 PM

Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale, November 5th from 10 AM - 4 PM
The Friends of the Library will be hosting their quarterly book sale!  Hardbacks - $2.00 / Softbacks $1.00 - Friends of the Library members receive 10% off the total sale price.  If you would like to join the Friends of the Library, please visit publiclibrary.cc/friends or visit the Main Circulation desk.  Memberships start at $10.00 per month for an individual.

Mark Kelly Presents : Inside the Numbers - History of the Iron Bowl, November 8th at 2 PM
Mark Everett Kelly, formerly of ESPN (also a two time Emmy winner) will be presenting his program here at the library entitled "Inside the Numbers - History of the Iron Bowl" Learn about the history of Iron Bowl, player matchups, top wins for each team and other interesting facts and numbers. If you are a football fan, be sure to mark your calendars!

Learn to Sell on eBay, November 15th at 2 PM
Join us in the Ayers Room as we learn all things e-bay! Learn how to list items for sale, generate a profit and get rid of unwanted treasures that may be lying around your house.

Model City Chess Club, November 19th at 1:30 PM
Join the Model City Chess Club at the Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County.  All skill levels and all ages welcome.  (Meets the third Saturday of every month)

Cards for Hospitalized Kids, All November
Get into the Thanksgiving spirit by stopping by the Young Adult department all November long to make cards for hospitalized kids. Cards for Hospitalized Kids(CFHK) is an internationally recognized charitable organization that spreads hope and joy to hospitalized kids across America through uplifting, handmade cards.

Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Tournament, November 3rd at 4 PM
Warm ups and sign ups start at 4:00. Tournament begins at 5:00. All players will be playing with Switch controllers in order to allow for an equal and fair playing field. No handicap assistance (or advantage) will be allowed in the game. All actions that occur in the video game are fair, so long as no cheating occurs. If there is a dispute the library staff will have final say. Round structure will depend on the number of participants.    

Anime Club: Hunter x Hunter, November 10th at 4 PM
Come to the Ayers Room to watch a new anime title and enjoy Japanese snacks and prizes every month!  This month we will be watching Hunter x Hunter.

D&D Day at the Library, November 12th at 1 PM
Join us at the Library for D&D and pizza.

FDIC Money Smart for Young Adults, November 16th at 3:30 PM 
Each month, the Library will offer a FDIC Money Smart course for young adults. This program contains eight modules, with a different module being offered every month. Students from the 11th-12th grade are encouraged to attend. This month, we will be accessing Module 3 - Setting Financial Goals - How to keep track of your money.

Tiny Art Show,  November - January
TEENS Stop by the YA Department in November to get your tiny canvas. Take it home and paint your masterpiece. When you're done, bring it back to the library and we'll display your works all December long. Pick your finished works back up in January.

Homeschooler Computer Class,  No Class Until December
Class will resume on December 2nd at 11 AM.

Homeschoolers Art Class,  November 18th at 11 AM
Learn about famous artists, movements, styles and mediums and then create works of art yourself! Ages 13+

Lego League,  November 9th at 3:30 PM
Come build with LEGO bricks in the Children's Department!

Sensory Storytime, Tuesdays at 10 AM
Come back to the library and join us for Storytime every Tuesday at 10 am in the Ayer's Room! This will be a socially distanced story time with a craft. A recording of the story will be made available on Facebook.

Pick-Up Craft, Weekly in October
Each week a new craft will be available. You can pick up a kit in the Children's Department.

Letters to Santa, November 1st - 25th
Write a letter to Santa! The library will mail them off and get Santa to write back!
