Come see what The Department of Horticulture is doing with Hops in the state of Alabama. They have partnered with Braided River Brewing Company to feature their Harvest Ale that is brewed with Alabama-Grown Hops and Barley. The most Alabama beer ever brewed! Harvest Ale is the first beer to feature both Alabama grown hops, and Alabama grown and malted barley. The Cascade and Chinook hops were cultivated in Mobile at the Auburn University Ornamental Horticulture Research Center and picked fresh for use in this beer. The Barley was also farmed in Alabama and was malted by Old South Malt House in Cullman.
